As part of the 2018 budget the Irish government are increasing the State Illness Benefit from €193 to €198 per week for an individual with effect from 26th March 2018. This is an increase of just €5 which means some people may still struggle to keep on top of their bills if this is their sole income.
Try our Project your Income tool to demonstrate how much income your clients could potentially lose over their working lifetime if they were unable to work due to long-term illness or injury. It helps to identify how much they need to protect.
The financial headache your client could face when an illness or accident prevents them from working can be severe. Income protection can replace up to 75% of their usual income less any social welfare payments when they’re off work for a period longer than 3 months due to illness or injury.
