For the second year running, St. Tiernan’s Cycling Club is proudly supported by Friends First in the most prestigious race in Irish Cycling, the 66th edition of the Rás Tailteann. Friends First endeavour to support activities and events that are consistent with our community development objectives. We believe sporting activities make a positive contribution to the community. We place particular importance on the benefits of sports programmes, clubs and activities introduced by Friends First employees.
The 2018 Rás Tailteann is a 1200 kilometre battle which began in Drogheda on Sunday May 20th. Brian O’Neill, Strategic Marketing Director with Friends First said “We are delighted to support the Friends First St. Tiernan’s Rás team and continue our association with the sport and aid with the development of the local cycling club. Returning man of the Rás, James Quinn has been happy with the preparation of this year’s team which sees two returning riders from 2017 and 3 Rás debutants, “Last year was our first year and was a very tough learning process but it has led to a number of riders stepping up to the plate this year. We are delighted to have Friends First on board with us as the Rás team’s commitment has been unwavering and without Friends First coming on board it may have all been in vain”.
The 2018 Rás Tailteann takes place from Sunday, May 20 to Sunday, May 27.
