Friends First Income Protection will give you an alternative income if illness, serious accident or injury prevents you from working long-term. If you need to make a claim on your policy, here is what you need to know.
A long-term illness, or injury that prevents you from working long-term can change your life overnight. With Income Protection from Friends First, you will be paid up to 75% of your usual income until you are ready to go back to work full time. This will ensure you should have no financial worries and can focus on making a full recovery.

What documents do I need?
There are certain documents you will need to send us with your form so we can process your income protection claim. This information is to verify your personal and employment details.
Proof of age
We need a certified copy of your passport or driving licence or birth certificate. This is so we can verify your age at the time of your claim.
Details of salary
We need a P60 or Notice Of Assessment and relevant accounts for the period just before you became ill or injured.
We need a description of your job.
GP claim form
As well as a GP Claim form, we will also need any medical reports or letters that you may have available from your doctors.
How long will it take?
Once we get your claim, we will make sure it is processed quickly and professionally. If your claim is approved, you will receive your first payment after your deferred period is over.
Your deferred period is the length of time from when you stop working to when we start paying your income protection benefits. It can be 4, 8, 13, 26 or 52 weeks, depending on what you chose when you set up your policy.
If you are in hospital for more than 7 days during your deferred period, you can receive a daily replacement income known as Hospital Cash.
