Friends First Concept K fund was first introduced to the Irish market in May 2016 and is actively managed by an award-winning team in Deutsche Asset Management. Concept K is a multi-asset absolute return fund, focused on providing a return, not just beating a benchmark. Since its introduction to the Irish Market, the fund has delivered a positive performance of +5%, net of charges, to date.
When compared to the performance of competitor’s absolute return funds, the results are clear to see.
The Concept K strategy was launched in 2011 and now has in excess of €8 billion of assets under management with an annualised return of 5.86% per annum, before charges, (2/5/2011 – 2/5/2016). To generate returns you have to take on some risk but Concept K has explicit objectives to control risk. These are to keep losses in any calendar year below 10%, keep annualised volatility below 10% per year and capture the majority of market gains but avoid significant losses. Because of its underlying strategy, Concept K is the ideal bespoke risk control solution for you. The investment risk within the fund is measured daily and before any new asset is put into the portfolio; its contribution to risk is also assessed.
The Concept K fund is a welcome addition to the Friends First fund range and was chosen because the fund is built in such a way that the manager’s strategic and tactical ideas can be implemented quickly and efficiently. These investment ideas play out over the short & long-term, aiming to provide growth over time while maintaining safe assets at the core of the investment to reduce potential losses.
The Concept K fund is available as a standalone fund option as well as featuring within a number of our Magnet and Compass range of portfolio funds. The Magnet and Compass ranges are ready-made portfolios, each designed with a particular type of investor in mind, making it easier for you to select the right investment for your needs.
The Concept K fund and the Magnet and Compass Range are available across the Friends First suite of Pensions, ARF (Approved Retirement Funds), AMRF (Approved Minimum Retirement Funds), Savings, and Investment products.
